Bridge and Reversing Falls at Slack Tide, Saint John, New Brunswick
Back
postcard: Bridge and Reversing Falls at Slack Tide, Saint John, New Brunswick, c. 1900. Collection of the New Brunswick Museum (X14899). The Reversing Rapids, where the St. John River empties into the Bay of Fundy, have long been a tourist destination. The Reversing Rapids are named for the tidal phenomenon that pushes the St. John River backwards during the rising tide.
