Trilobite: Ctenocephalus matthewi (Hartt in Dawson). Cambrian. Ratcliffe Brook, New Brunswick. Collector: A.G. Leavitt and W. McIntosh, c. 1909. New Brunswick Museum (NBMG 13263). Trilobite width 1.5 cm. Fred Hartt collected specimens of the trilobite Ctenocephalus on a trip to Ratcliffe Brook in 1863. This became the first Cambrian trilobite locality in Canada and one of the first discovered in North America. Hartt named the species for his friend George Matthew.
