Woodland caribou: Rangifer tarandus (Linneaus). Quaternary. Grand Manan, New Brunswick. Collector: J. Foster, 1993. New Brunswick Museum (NBMG 9189). Specimen length 57 cm. Caribou are known from historic records in New Brunswick. They disappeared from the Province in the 1900s. Fossils are known from offshore deposits near Grand Manan Island where rare antler specimens have been dredged from the seafloor.
