photograph: View of the Kennebecasis Formation, Saint John, New Brunswick, 2006. New Brunswick Museum. The Kennebecasis Formation in southern New Brunswick represents river deposits from about 375 million years ago. Fine sandy layers and coarse boulder conglomerate layers indicate changing energy of the river moving sediment downstream. Fossil fish remains were only recently found here.
