Antinouri Lake
To the west of Bathurst near Jacquet River, one of the newest granite quarries opened in the 1950s at Antinouri Lake. This pink-coloured granite was used as dimension stone and to produce veneer. A number of churches in northern New Brunswick, including Notre-Dames-des-Sept-Douleurs Church in Edmunston and Église Saint-Polycarpe in Petit-Rocher are built from Antinouri Lake granite. Several small municipal buildings in Campbellton and Dalhousie are likely constructed from this granite as well.
