Plant: Loganophyton Kräusel and Weyland. Devonian. Dalhousie Junction, New Brunswick. Collector: P.G. Gensel, c. 1980. New Brunswick Museum (NBMG 3567). Image width 24 cm. Plants probably appeared on land in the Ordovician Period. By the Early Devonian they were turning the landscape green, although they were still mostly small. In northern New Brunswick the Campbellton Formation preserves the remains of many different plants that probably grew along the margins of rivers and lagoons.
